Our Weekend in Carmelita

We had a great weekend visiting Carmelita. Great food. Lots of new friends. Excellent hospitality. What a wonderful community.

We’re going back again next weekend too. Carmelita is an amazing place with a rich jungle wild-crafting history: Chicle, Xate, Timber, Archeology, Tourism and lots more. The community of Carmelita works with many experts in the related fields to assure all is done with the best of intentions and mindful sustainability.

We’ve started talks with many stakeholders in the community about bringing Buenas Cosas programs and volunteers to Carmelita. We’re very encouraged and there appears to be a definite need. We’ve got lots more work ahead of us and many more people in the community are yet to be contacted. Regardless, everything looks quite promising and so far everyone we’ve talked with seemed genuinely interested in bringing Buenas Cosas’ projects and volunteers to Carmelita. We’ll see how it goes over the next few weeks – just Buenas Cosas!

Thanks to everyone in Carmelita for giving us such a warm and welcoming weekend! Special thanks to Dona Rosa and her family for all the excellent oranges and coconuts – Yum!
